Alfentanil

Introduction

  • This information is intended to support hospital doctors prescribing alfentanil spray for pain.
  • Alfentanil spray is unlicensed for use in pain and the patient’s GP would not routinely be asked to take on prescribing.
  • This document may however also serve as a useful GP reference if one of their patients is maintained on alfentanil spray by the hospital.
